Elahi was arrested shortly after his release from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) granted him bail in case pertaining to rioting in the Federal Judicial Complex on May 9.
Elahi’s counsel Sardar Abdul Razzaq told Express News that the PTI leader has been arrested at least 12 times since May 9 protests, which broke out across the nation following ousted premier Imran Khan’s arrest.
The beleaguered politician has multiple cases pending in different courts and remains embroiled in a legal rigamarole with the authorities arresting him in new or previously undisclosed cases each time he manages to acquire bail.
