Lahore, Islamabad struck by strong earthquake – Pakistan Observer

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 jolted several Pakistani cities including Lahore, Islamabad on Thursday noon, with no reports of any damages or casualties thus far.

National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) said quake was at a depth of 213 kilometres with its epicentre in Afghanistan. It had a longitude of 70.63 East and a latitude of 36.16 North.

Tremors were felt in nearby cities, including the federal capital, causing fear among the residents.

Meanwhile, US Geological Survey suggest that quake with a magnitude recorded of 6.4.

It was reported that tremors were also felt in India and Afghanistan.
