Three arrested in search operations in Rajouri, Poonch – Pakistan Observer

At least, three persons were arrested during the ongoing massive cordon and search operations in the forest areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The joint operations were launched by Indian army, police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force in different parts of Budhal, Thanamandi, Sunderbani, and Kalakote in Rajouri and Mendhar in Poonch, officials said.

They said on Monday that three persons were picked up for questioning from Barote in Budhal areas.

Searches were conducted in Muradpur, Bathuni, Ghai Bhawal, Tatta Pani Broh in Kalakote, Ghambir Mughlan in Manjakote, and Rajdhani-Thanamandi in Rajouri since Monday morning, the officials added.

They said the troops are also engaged in operations in Gursai, Jabranwali Gali, Saruti, and Ari villages in Mendhar sector of Poonch district.

Searches were intensified in the twin districts following a fierce gunbattle in Dharmsal belt’s Bajimaal area of Rajouri on November 22 and 23 that left five troops including two captains dead.—KMS
