“Let the Pakistan Muslim League (N) play the innings”, Syed Khursheed Shah, the former opposition leader in the national assembly and central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) critically suggested. In an exclusive interview with Daily Quetta Voice on Tuesday, Mr. Shah said, “We (PPP) won the toss, and allowed the PML N to play the innings”.
He expressed these views when asked about the joining of influential electables from Balochistan to PML N. “There are many more, who are ready to join our party”, he claimed, giving no other details.
“Mian Sab Ruined The Slogan Of Vote Ko Izat Do”
When asked about former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s slogan of “Vote Ko Izat Do” (Respect The Vote), he claimed, “Mian Sab has ruined the slogan”. He said the PPP was a masses party and that it was striving for the supremacy of the constitution and rule of law in the country.
The PPP stalwart said his party would give a surprise and emerge as the largest parliamentary in the fast-approaching general elections. “With 128 members, PPP made positive strides in the country”, Mr. Shah asserted.
PPP Stands For The Rights Of Balochistan
He said the party had given due importance to Balochistan and all smaller provinces in the shape of adopting the historic 18th amendment, the National Finance Commission award and addressing the financial issues of Balochistan.
The former opposition leader in the NA recalled that Balochistan’s budget was 100 percent increased after the adoption of the NFC award in Gwadar. “We believe in practice rather than hollow slogans”, Mr. Shah reiterated.
He stated that the party also renamed the NWFP as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it was a historic movement for the people.
Mr. Shah dispelled the impression about differences between Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP supremo and the Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. “These are rumors”, he responded when asked about differences between Zardari and Bilawal.
