After a former Bond girl suggested Sydney Sweeney as the ideal candidate to play the renowned spy’s next love interest, she attracted the curiosity of the James Bond community.
The 79-year-old Trina Parks thinks the actress is a good fit for the part. Since she became the first Black Bond girl in 1971, she is well-versed in the Bond movies.
In Diamonds Are Forever, she portrayed Thumper, an assassin who appeared alongside Sean Connery.
Parks complimented Sweeney’s acting skills in an interview with The Telegraph, saying, “Sydney would do a wonderful job. She has done quite a range of acting things and basically has got ownership of her sexual identity.”
However, she also clarified what she would love to see in the coming Bond movie. According to the star, the woman who falls for 007 should not be easily impressed by his appearances and should possess her own voice.
Despite having multiple relationships, she would like Bond to work for her love.
The hunt for the new 007 is progressing even though the next Bond girl remains a mystery.
In screen tests, the reported participants are Jack Lowden, Callum Turner, Josh O’Connor, and another unnamed actor.
Ben Whishaw, who featured as Q, has remarked that the well-known series “needs to be reinvented completely.”
