KARACHI: Two separate robbery incidents have been reported in Karachi, with robbers fleeing after looting a total of Rs1.40 crore from petrol pump and private company employees, ARY News reported.
In the first incident, armed robbers looted Rs62 million from two petrol pump employees outside a bank in Korangi No. 5, within the limits of Awami Colony police station.
The two petrol pump employees were on their way to deposit the cash at a bank when they were intercepted by four robbers riding two motorcycles.
CCTV footage shows the robbers snatching a cash-filled bag from the employees before fleeing. The suspects arrived from the wrong side of the road towards the hospital and escaped after carrying out the robbery.
Police have obtained the CCTV footage of the incident and launched an investigation.
In another incident, three armed robbers looted Rs7.8 million from employees of a private company on Tariq Road, police said.
According to police, the company employees had withdrawn the cash from a bank and were leaving when the robbers intercepted them.
The three suspects fled after the robbery, while police have launched an investigation into the Rs7.8 million robbery and started efforts to arrest the suspects.
