Karachi: Woman shot dead, body found in Nullah as violent incidents claim 3 lives

KARACHI: Three individuals were killed, including a woman, and two others sustained injuries in separate incidents across Karachi on Sunday, ARY News reported, citing police.

According to police, a 35-year-old woman identified as Gul Indam was shot dead inside her house, while her nine-year-old daughter, Nasreen, was wounded in the Lasbela neighborhood.

The perpetrator barged into the house after the victim’s husband left to buy household essentials, opened fire on the woman and her daughter, and immediately fled the scene.

The body and the injured were sent to a nearby hospital.

Police stated that the family had been living in the rented house for the past six months. Gul Indam originally hailed from Afghanistan and was scheduled to return there in a few days. The police crime scene unit recovered three empty bullet casings from the spot.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East stated that investigators have recorded an initial statement from the injured daughter. Nasreen stated that a former neighborhood resident opened fire inside their house. The SSP added that efforts are underway to arrest the suspect.

In a separate incident, a man was shot dead and another was injured in Dhaba Colony, Baldia Town. Rescue officials shifted the body and the injured individual to a nearby hospital, noting that the shooting stemmed from a personal quarrel between the attackers and the deceased.

Meanwhile, the decomposed body of an unidentified person, dead for several days, was retrieved by a rescue team from a nullah in the New Challi area of Karachi.
