Acting President, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to King Haakon VIII of the Kingdom of Norway on his accession to the throne.
In his letter to the new king, Acting President Gilani expressed confidence that under his leadership, Norway would continue to advance on the path of peace, democracy, prosperity and social progress. He also conveyed his best wishes for King Haakon VIII’s success in carrying forward the important responsibilities entrusted to him as Sovereign of the Kingdom of Norway.
Mr Gilani reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of friendship and mutual respect between Pakistan and Norway, expressing confidence that the warm and cordial relations between the two countries and their peoples would continue to deepen and strengthen in the years ahead. He emphasized that closer parliamentary cooperation and greater people-to-people contacts would provide important avenues for further strengthening these ties.
