News Desk: Pakistan’s transport sector is set to face major disruptions as the All Pakistan Transport and Open Loaders Transport Alliance has announced an indefinite nationwide transport strike beginning on Saturday, August 8, 2026, demanding that the government accept its charter of demands.
The alliance said a complete wheel-jam strike will be observed across the country, with trucks, trailers, Mazda trucks, and all other freight vehicles remaining off the roads until the government implements what it described as the transport community’s legitimate demands.
In its announcement, the alliance appealed to truck owners, transporters, drivers, logistics operators, and company owners to demonstrate unity by fully participating in the protest. Members have also been instructed to follow only the official directives issued by the transport alliance.
The strike is expected to significantly impact the movement of goods, commercial cargo, industrial supplies, and nationwide logistics operations, potentially disrupting supply chains if the deadlock between the transport community and the government continues.
The transport alliance has not specified an end date for the protest, stating that the strike will remain in effect until meaningful progress is made on its demands.
