Gilani stresses values of tolerance, unity and national consensus – Pakistan Observer

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani here on Friday visited Eidgah Sharif, where he highlighted the role of Sufi traditions in promoting love, tolerance, compassion, brotherhood and service to humanity.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms Jane Marriott, Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Cryptocurrency Bilal Bin Saqib were also present on the occasion. The guests were warmly received by Custodian of Eidgah Sharif Pir Syed Muhammad Hassan Haseeb-ur-Rehman.

During the visit, Pir Syed Muhammad Hassan Haseeb-ur-Rehman briefed the Chairman Senate and the British High Commissioner about the history of Eidgah

Eidgah Sharif, its spiritual legacy, religious and social contributions, and the traditions of the Sufi order associated with the shrine.

He said Eidgah Sharif had served for more than a century and a half as a centre of spiritual guidance, religious education, remembrance of Allah, Milad gatherings and promotion of Islamic values, attracting millions of devotees from Pakistan and abroad.
