Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has always prioritized Southern Punjab in all development projects and never discriminated between Southern and Central Punjab.
In a statement in response to PPP MPA Ali Haider Gillani here on Tuesday, she said either the PPP lawmaker is completely ignorant of the facts or he is deliberately engaging in political point-scoring.
She urged him to step out of Lahore and Islamabad, remove his glasses of prejudice, and visit South Punjab for once to witness the development there himself.
Bukhari emphasized that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has prioritized South Punjab in every single one of her projects, as there is no division like South or Central Punjab in her eyes—only one united Punjab.
She highlighted that electric buses were introduced in South Punjab first and are now operating successfully across ten districts of the province, meaning they will soon be seen running in all these tehsils.
Furthermore, under the *’Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’* scheme, the majority of the 200,000 houses are being constructed in South Punjab, alongside the construction of new sports grounds and the ongoing upgrade of hospitals. She added that the Green Tractor scheme, Kisan Cards, and Super Seeders have mostly been distributed among the farmers of South Punjab, while Rs. 10 billion is being spent solely on the *Kacha* (riverine) area.
Warning the opposition, she advised them not to play the fake ‘South Punjab card’ every time just to rescue their sinking politics, noting that they resort to this narrative whenever they run out of political options. Bukhari concluded by firmly stating that such blackmailing tactics will not work here.
