PMD issues hot and humid weather outlook for Karachi

Humidity level recorded at 70 percent, increasing heat intensity.

KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions today, with high moisture levels likely to intensify the perceived heat.

The minimum temperature recorded in the city stands at 29.5°C, while humidity levels have reached around 70 percent, indicating persistently muggy conditions.

At present, the temperature in Karachi is recorded at 31°C, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 35°C and 37°C during the day.

PMD officials noted that due to elevated humidity, the heat will feel more intense than the actual temperature.

Southwesterly winds are currently blowing across the city at a speed of 11 kilometres per hour, providing only limited relief.

The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the day, however, there is no chance of rainfall, according to the meteorological outlook.
