KARACHI – Karachi is likely to experience a further drop in temperature as the ongoing cold wave continues to affect the city and other parts of Sindh, the meteorologists said on Saturday.
The cold conditions have persisted across Karachi and several cities in rural Sindh, with the metropolis recording single-digit minimum temperatures for the second consecutive day.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to fall to around 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
Chief Meteorologist Karachi Ameer Haider Laghari said the prevailing cold wave may continue until Tuesday.
He attributed the intensifying cold to a recent western weather system, explaining that cold winds typically follow such systems as part of natural atmospheric processes.
He added that once the western system fully moves out, Siberian winds become active, resulting in a further decline in temperatures.
Laghari also clarified that no rain-bearing weather system is expected to affect Karachi over the next 10 days.
