Lahore witnessed a proud moment for Pakistani sports as national boxing star Muhammad Waseem won the World Gold Bantamweight Title on the final day of the International Boxing Championship.
Waseem defeated Thailand’s Jakkrawut in a competitive bout to secure the prestigious title on home soil, drawing loud applause from the crowd present at the venue.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated Muhammad Waseem on his victory and said that he has made the entire nation proud with his achievement.

Several other important fights were also held on the last day of the event. In the South Asia Super Middleweight category, British boxer Jamie Kelly defeated Thailand’s Chaiwat to win the title. In another bout, a Mexican boxer claimed victory over British boxer Alex in the Asia Gold Featherweight category.
The Fight for Glory Championship, held for the first time in Pakistan, concluded successfully with the participation of 44 boxers from 15 countries, marking an important milestone for the country’s boxing scene.
