Sindh extends deadline for new vehicle number plates till December 31, 2025 – Pakistan Observer

KARACHI – The Sindh Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has extended the deadline for replacing old vehicle number plates by two more months, moving the final date to December 31, 2025.

An official notification issued by the department said that the new high-security number plates feature advanced technology designed to enhance vehicle identification and tracking.

Earlier, the deadline for replacing the old Ajrak-design plates was set for October 31, 2025.

Meanwhile, the electronic challan (e-challan) system recently implemented in Karachi has become fully operational, with the city traffic police issuing as many as 4,136 e-challans so far.

Officials said the e-challan system marks a significant step toward improving traffic monitoring and ensuring compliance with traffic laws.

 Citizens have been urged to follow traffic regulations to help maintain smooth traffic flow and reduce road accidents.
